The bride traditionally sits inside a room, away from all the action, whilst the gates are guarded by all her 'sisters'.

The groom arrives with his entourage and a young boy opens the car to let the groom out. He stands at the gate with his 'brothers' and bargains for his bride - involving monetary bribes, doing little challenges and games.

The funniest and loudest part of the whole day, so it's only right to start the wedding day with a BANG!

Tea served as a sign of respect in Asian cultures. The bride and groom serve their parents a cup of tea to thank their parents for raising them. In return, the newlyweds receive lucky red envelopes ("hong bao") stuffed with money or diamond and gold jewelry.

The traditional wedding ceremony will be held at Zion Bible-Presbyterian Church. After the bride walks down the aisle with her father, the ceremony will involve some hymns and a short message by the Pastor.

After the ceremony, there will be some light refreshments and coffee/tea available in the Fellowship Hall.

Goodwood Park Hotel was chosen as the wedding dinner venue due to it's old English / Tudor style decor and ambience. Walk up the huge red-carpeted stairs and enter the ballroom, where the wedding dinner will take place.

Cocktails begin at 7:00 PM and dinner will follow at 8:00 PM.

The wedding dinner will be a traditional multi-course Chinese banquet, and there will be speeches during the evening. We will all also be making a toast to the new bride and groom, and there will be the traditional cake cutting as well.

Guests will have a great time chatting and eating during the evening, and for those so inclined, there will be an after-party at the club in the hotel!
